Oscar Avery Stanturf (October 9, 1873, near Spickard, Missouri), the son of Michael Stanturf and Mary Ann Reed, was married on February 16, 1898,'to Dona Alice Branam (June 21, 1880, Mercer County), the daughter of Steuban Branam and Martha Campbell. Oscar and Dona had four children, all born in Mercer County: Eve Deli (April 26, 1900) who was married on July 29, 1917, to Lora E. McCulley; Lucy Fern (April 21, 1904 - March 16, 1975) who was married on September 11, 1929, to Edmond Beavers (March 7, 1887 - September 19, 1963); Lennis (February 16, 1907 - June 1915); and Frank Leonard (December 2, 1909) who was married on December 24, 1931, to Viola Bainer (June 21, 1908).
In 1927 the family moved to a farm in Franklin County, Kansas, near their daughter Eva McCulley. Oscar retired in November 1943 from farming. They bought a house in Ottawa, Kansas, where Oscar died less than a year later on May 29, 1944Submitted by Lowell and Marilyn McCulley
