Thomas Stanturf, Lifelong
Resident of the County, Dead

Thomas M. Stanturf died Friday at his home five miles north west of Princeton. The funeral was held Sunday at Pleasant Ridge Church and was conducted by Rev. W.E. Kauffman interment was in the cemetery nearby. Thomas M. Stanturf, son of Michael and Mary Stanturf, was born in Mercer County, Sept 17, 1871, being 54 years, 4 months and 10 days old at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Anna J. Washburn, Oct. 29, 1903, and to this union four children were born. One son, Paul preceded his father in death. Those who survive are Delbert, Neva, and Floyd, all of the home.
At an early age Mr. Stanturf united with the Antioch church and later transferred his membership to the Christian Church in Mill Grove. He has spent his entire life in this county, except three years in Harrison County. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by two sisters and four brothers. They are Mrs. Sally Braffett, Clinton, Okla; Mrs. Anna Watson, Princeton; William Stanturf, Spickard; Oscar Stanturf, Panama, Kans; Elder Stanturf, Princeton, and James Stanturf of Carollton.

Family history relates that he was kicked in the head by a mule 6 mon's before his death and that is reason for his death, per grandson. Death Certificate gives the reason for death as a heart attack.
