William and his wife built a home at 475 Old Hillside Avenue in San Jose. In 2000 every effort was made to try to get this house on the historic register but unfortunately by the time I was contacted time had all but run out and my great grandparents house was torn down to make way for apartments. I was given the opportunity to go through it for a short time before it was raised, in doing so I got (with permission) all of the door knobs and two glass cupboard doors from a built in I am sure my great grandfather built. There was so much more I would have like to have saved but time did not allow it so I am grateful I got what I did.
