Son of Jerome Bonaparte Greer JR and Achsah Sherman. He married Freida Jund daughter of Henry Otto Jund and Isabella Huber on 21 Apr 1904. Freida married second Ralph Winsboro. Warren died in the influenza epidemic of 1918. He was a member of Woodsman of the World according to his headstone. He lived at 661 51st Street in Oakland at the time of his death.

Also worked at Noah Adams Lumber Company.

"Word was received here on Wednesday morning of the death in Oakland on Tuesday of W.E. Greer, former resident of Concord and manager of the lumber yards there. Mr. Greer removed to Oakland a short time ago to reside."
