Jean Loreman Bertrand, 96 yrs., born and raised in Catawissa, PA, passed away April 4, 2022 in Fredericksburg, TX. Preceded in death by husband, Louis (59 yrs. of marriage), and by eldest daughter, Linda Parsons (Tom), and Jean's sisters, Eda Phillips, and Jo Schleider. Survived by daughter, Cynthia Soto (Edward) of Kerrville, TX; granddaughter, Amanda Linthicum (Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Ezra and Samantha of TX. Jean was an endearing friend to many. She was a graduate of Catawissa H.S., and longtime resident of Orange, CA. Jean was led by her Christian faith, and lived life as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grand/great-grandmother. Jean exemplified a joyful and demure spirit, and lived a modest yet classy lifestyle. Jean took great pleasure in decades of volunteer work at the Yorba Linda Library, as a docent at the Richard M. Nixon Library, with the Orange County Alzheimer's Association, and with Orange County Republican Women's Association. Jean was quite gifted with culinary skills, and she enjoyed gardening and reading her Bible. Dearest to her heart was fellowship and social contact with family and friends. Jean will be interred alongside her husband at Loma Vista Cemetery, 701 E. Bastanchury Rd., Fullerton, CA; per her wishes, there will be no viewing or graveside service.
