Mrs. Dorothy McKinnon Rowell, 90, died Wednesday morning (April 13, 2022) at her residence.
She was a native of Pierce County and lived most of her life in Ware County. She was formerly employed as a seamstress with Streats Garments in Nichols and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Blackshear.
She was the daughter of the late Leroy Dixon and Colea Jean Atlman Rowell. She was also preceded in death by her husband Joe Brown McKinnon, three children, Wendell Rowell, Jennifer King, and Linda Jordan; and three siblings, Violet Sprage, Lucy Dixon, and Jesse Roberts.
She is survived by her children, Barney Harold (Brigitte) of Jesup, GA, Timothy Rowell (Michelle) of Nicholls, GA, and Pamela Montgomery of Waycross, GA; nine grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; a sister, Dale Thornton (Hardy) of Blackshear, GA; a brother, Morris Dixon of Blackshear, GA; her step mother, Ruby Dixon of Blackshear, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held Friday (April 15, 2022) at 3:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
