Betsy was predeceased by brothers, Frank, Jim, Louis and Albert Fojtik, and sisters, Annie Kocurek, Mary Valka, Agnes Fikes, and Lillie Polensky.
Betsy is survived by her children, Gordon Hutson, Libby Wilkins-Rivas, Audie Hutson (Donna), Stacey Haning (Jim), sister, Hattie Poole, grandchildren, Jeremy Hutson (Lorraine), Kasandra Sequeira (Bartlett), Michelle Hammack (Gabriel), Kimberly Wilkins, Sabrina Wilkins-Rivas, Haley Hutson, Heather Hutson, Jacqueline Markham (Jeff), Jessica Haning, William Haning, Katie Lindsay (Nate), Todd Grube. In addition, Betsy will be missed by her 23 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great- grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the Czech Republic.
Betsy valued time spent with her family and friends and found joy in serving others. She enjoyed traveling to visit family, especially in the Czech Republic. She was a faithful Christian and devoted her time to the following organizations at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Betsy served as Eucharistic Minister, board member for St. Vincent de Paul Society, Auction Chairman, and a member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Seniors on a Roll (SOARS) and the finance committee. She continued to make friends until the very end, including new friends at Tuscany Village Nursing Home. We are so grateful for the loving care she received from her caretakers at Tuscany Village and from Village Home Health & Hospice.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (OLPH) in Sweeny, Texas, led by Father Preston Quintela. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Lee Flores at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at OLPH in Sweeny, Texas, with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, Texas.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
