Dewey Chenault, 78 years old of Bedford, Indiana died September 24, 1976 at his residence. He was born April 29, 1898 in Rock Haven, Meade County, Kentucky the son of Henry Chenault and Mollie Shrewsbury. He married Pearl Covey on February 20, 1920 and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Dewey Dale Chenault; four daughters, Dorothy Elder, Melvena Ryan, Betty Stancombe and Erma Haws; three brothers, Felix Chenault, William Chenault and Wayne Chenault; two sisters, Wilda Sims and Mabel Pierce; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, two sisters and two children preceded him in death.
Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory gardens.
