Jim retired as a plant foreman from Formax after 35 years of service. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He was very much involved with his grandchildren and their activities. He enjoyed and loved being and spending time with his family. Following his early years in Dighton he moved to the Grand Rapids area with his parents, and graduated from Central High School. Jim and his family enjoyed returning to Dighton for summer weekends and hunting trips.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Lou (Slager) Worst; two children, son C. James Worst Jr. "Jim" (Lynne) Worst, daughter Beth (Bret) Hoeksema; three granddaughters, Hannah Worst, Diana Hoeksema, and Olivia Hoeksema; a grandson, Dylan Worst; two sisters, Jean Zylstra and Donna Rogalski; a brother, Bill Worst; two brothers-in-law, Mike Denick and Bob (Aggie) Slager; mother-in-law, Ruth Denick; several nieces and nephews and other family members.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday August 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel with Rev. Hugh Dickenson of St. Phillips Episcopal Church officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday August 18th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Memorial Contributions can be made to either Spectrum Hospice or American Cancer Society, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
