William Talmadge Pridgen, Jr., 79, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010. He was born November 22, 1930 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late William Talmadge Pridgen, Sr. and Mary Brake Pridgen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Louis Rose Pridgen; and his brothers, Bennett Pridgen and Jerry Pridgen; and sister, Melba Carlisle.
He is survived by brothers, Elton Pridgen and wife Bernice of Rocky Mount; sisters, Helen Weaver and husband Paul of Rocky Mount, Ruth Daniels and husband Billy of Rocky Mount, and Arlene Fisher of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Donald Carlisle of Kernersville; and dear friend, Janice Wilson of Rocky Mount; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Johnson's Chapel with Rev. Paul Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
