Married Sarah Mary February 19, 1839 New York, they had 5 children: Charles H(1840-1900), Francis Milly1844-1894), Mary(1846/47), John Canfield(1849-1917) & Horace Greeley(1858-1925). John,one of the early settlers of VanBuren County and who, for many years operated a wagon, plow and blacksmith shop one half mile north of Pierceville, making hundreds of plows and vehicles for residents of the county, was buried yesterday in the Dibble Cemetery by the side of his wife and in sight of the old home. He was born in August 1817, which made him in his eighty-eighth year. His death, we understand occurred at Dexter, where for some time he had been making his home with one of his children. He was an excellent citizen and will be sincerely mourned by his old settler acquaintances. His brother James Lyon and nephews Lincoln and Thomas Lyon reside at or near Stockport.
