Mary was preceded in death by an infant son, Reginald E. Meeks; parents, Frank and Velma Chenault; sister Frankie Meeks (Durwood); brother John E. Chenault; grandson Bobby Sanford; great-grandson Gage Meeks.
She retired after over 49 years of loyal service at South Central Bell. Mary was a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church. She belonged to Pioneers of South Central Bell and was a lifetime member of Communications Workers of America.
Mary is survived by her son, Michael E. Meeks (Anita), granddaughter Melissa Meeks Sanford; grandsons Reginald Meeks and John Meeks; sister Sue Bratton (Jimmy); great-grandchildren Morgan Andrews (Slade), Lilly Meeks Sanford, Kylie Sanford, Mary Elizabeth Meeks, Mikala Meeks, Sawyer Meeks, Ashyr Meeks, Kingston Sanford, and great-great-grandchild Hudson Gage Andrews and Scarlett Andrews; nieces Ann Garvin (Ronnie), Sue Auttonberry (Leslie); nephew Sidney Meeks (Debra).
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Garvin, Leslie Auttonberry, Johnny Gonzalez, Reggie Meeks, Sawyer Meeks, Lilly Meeks, Jessie Sellers, and Slade Andrews.
We want to give a special thanks to her primary doctor Dr. Kenneth Metoyer and his nurse Kimberly Parker, Amanda Andrews, and The Team at Passages Hospice.
