Frankie worked for South Central Bell for 43 years all the while being a loving wife and raising three children. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she was known as the “candy lady” because she loved passing out candy to the children. Frankie also loved Hug A Bears and painting the faces on. She was a member of telephone pioneers. Frankie is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, S. D. Meeks, Sr.; parents, Frank Ellis and Velma Scroggins Chenault; brother, John Ellis Chenault.
Frankie is survived by her son, Sidney D. Meeks, Jr. and wife Deb; two daughters, Sue Ellen Meeks Auttonberry and husband Leslie, Ann Meeks Garvin and husband Ronnie; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ellen Meeks, Carolyn Sue Bratton; other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lee Garvin, Greg Garvin, Wiley Auttonberry, Joseph Cain, Mike Meeks, and David Hollenshead.
The family would like to give a “special thanks” to LAC Hospice, nurse Kim and aide Nancy; special friends, David and Pat Hollenshead; sister, Mary Ellen Meeks, when you see one you would see the other.
