Last Rites for Robert Moffitt Held Saturday

Robert William Moffitt, a life time resident of Princeville and vicinity passed away Wednesday in a hospital in Peoria where he had been a patient for several weeks.
He was born July 17, 1876 near Princeville and has resided here all of his life. He was the son of Francis and Caroline Lawrence Moffitt.
He secured all of his schooling in the Monica public school where he lived as a boy. He was raised up as a church going boy, having joined the Monica Methodist church and took an active part of all church activities being Sunday school superintendent, teacher and choir member.
He was united in marriage December 31, 1913 to Fern Aby. They made their home of a farm in the Whites Grove vicinity for many years until his health would not permit him to farm any longer. They later moved to Princeville, Mr. Moffitt never forgot his church. He moved his membership to Princeville Methodist church and was seen in church regularly until his health would not permit him to attend.
He is survived by his wife; one niece, Mrs. Mildred Bliss Bleski of Princeville, who was a part of the Moffitt family as she made her home with them from a child to womanhood; also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. May Hill of Princeville and Mrs. Carrie Wilson of Silverdale, Wash.; two brothers, George of Princeville and Henry of Toulon. There are also many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Services were held at the Tretheway funeral home Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. Charles Smith. Pallbearers were six nephews, John and Ralph Wilson, Ralph and Everett Hill, Lloyd Harlan and Donald Sears.
Among those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson and Ralph Wilson of Moline, Harry Wilson of Galesburg, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hill of Jacksonville and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Harlan of Toulon.
