Sherwood Pearson was born in McMinn Co., Tennessee. He was the son of Doctor Pearson and Lovice Smith Pearson. After his father died he and his siblings stayed on the family farm in McMinn County and his mother and his younger siblings moved to Polk Co. , the county next to McMinn. He met Angeline Mashburn a daughter of the widowed Elizabeth Mashburn. Sherwood and Angeline were married in about 1852. There is no record of their marriage due to the court house was burned and all the records were destroyed. Their two oldest children Mary and Nancy were born in Polk Co., Tennessee. In the spring of 1856 Sherwood and Angeline moved to Boone Twp, Maries Co., Missouri. Sherwood and Angeline had nine children; the youngest Eliza Belle was my husband's great grandmother. Angeline died in 1876. On Dec. 23, 1888 Sherwood married Nancy J. Keaton. Sherwood and Nancy had seven children. Four of their seven children are buried in the Campground Cemetery Arthur, Clemons, Laura, and the unnamed Infant Pearson.
