Escondido, CA -- Mrs. Gertrude Miller, 81, formerly of Oil City, died at 3:30 pm Saturday in the Casa Blanca Rest Home following an illness of more than a year. Born in Dempseytown Jan. 29, 1887, she was a daughter of Cyrus and Laura Reed Beightol.

She married William Chelton who died in 1946. She married John Miller who died in 1961.

She was an ex-senior regent of the Women of the Moose of Oil City, and a member of the Lady Dempsey Rebekah Lodge of Dempseytown.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Roberta) Graff of Escondido; a grandson, James Graff of El Monte, CA; 5 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two step-daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Miller Thompson of Rancho Cordova, CA, and Mrs. Clarence (Betty) Moody of Oil City; two brothers, Vern Beightol of Erie, and Fred Heyl of Conneautville; two sisters, Mrs. Berneta Ackerman of Conneaut Lake, and Mrs. Louise Reed of Oil City.

Services will be Tuesday at Alhiser-Wilson Mortuary, Escondido. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Los Angeles.
