FRANK M. THOMPSON DIES IN KIRKSVILLE
-FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AT LA PLATA CEMETERY TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Frank M. Thompson, 75, died at the home of his son, Walter Thompson, 1119 N. Edgar St., in Kirksville, Monday morning. He had been bedfast since suffering a stroke about a year ago.
Francis Marion Thompson was born near Sue City, in Knox County, Missouri, Jan. 1, 1861, a son of Cyrus and Sarah E. Thompson. He was the last of a family of five children, two sisters and two brothers having preceded him in death several years ago.
On Oct. 6, 1882, he was married to Miss Jane Cupp and to them was born one son, who survives. His wife preceded him in death on Dec. 29, 1919. He is also survived by two grandsons, Raymond Thompson of Kirksville, and Delmar L. Thompson, who has enlisted in the U.S. Navy and reported for duty in Chicago on Monday; and a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the La Plata Cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made by the side of his wife.
Mr. Thompson and his family lived east of La Plata for a number of years and will be remembered by a number of people.
