Notes for JAMES BARBER:
James Barber served in the Revolutionary War with the rank of Captain Rhode Island Militia. Re: DAR Patriot Index-Centennial Edition.

His two sons:Samuel and William served in the Revolutionary War.

He had a total of 33 children by his three wives:Ann Barber in 1748, Ann Mumford in 1757 and Margret Wilcox in 1768.He had at least 11 children whose names are not known. Doubt has been expressed in some quarters that he has 33 children. This however is well settled in family tradition.

Son Job died in infancy.

He lived to the age of 95 years.
