Mrs. Shaw was born January 23, 1925 in Truman, Arkansas, a daughter of the late William Harley and Sudie (Turner) Adams. She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Greg Gibbs and Lance Shaw, three brothers, and two sisters.
Opal was retired from Conway Human Development Center. She was a member of Happy Hollow Baptist Church; and her family remembers that she was a great cook and loved to have her entire family every Sunday for dinner. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and the Razorbacks.
Survivors are her husband of sixty-five years and eleven months, Claud W. Shaw of Vilonia; children, Betty Gibbs and husband Wendell; Kathryn Sue Gentry; Shelia Jackson and husband Phillip all of Vilonia; Robert "Bob" Shaw and wife Marsha of Enola; a brother, George Adams of St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a special nephew, Jack Bridgman.
Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway with Bro. Ronnie Fortner and Bro. Tom Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
