Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Rinehart was born about 1869 in Indiana, the daughter of Daniel D. Rinehart and his wife Mary Jane Wimmer. Sarah was the oldest daughter, and third child of ten born to the parents.

Sarah married her first husband, Samuel Alonzo Taylor January 30, 1886, in Huntington Co., Indian. Samuel was born in Indiana, August 16, 1860, the son of S.A. Taylor and his wife Lucinda Walters. They were the parents of three daughters, Grace, Estelle and Nellie.

Samuel was an owner of Taylor & Nicholson Bottling Works, a company he shared ownership with his son-in-law, Watson Clyde Nicholson. The company obtained a franchise to bottle Coca-Cola. Watson became president in 1935 and sole owner after Samuel's death. Samuel & Sarah's grandson, Donn Nicholson continued the tradition of operating the bottling plant, until his retirement in 1977.

Sarah became widowed January 30, 1922, when Samuel was found dead at the home of their daughter, Estelle. He had suffered a heart attack.

Between 1922 and 1930, Sarah married Witt Wyatt Rarick. This was a second marriage for both. Witt was born August 10, 1867, in Osceola, Clark Co., Iowa, the son of Adam Rarick and his wife, Elizabeth Adkins. He died August 5, 1935, in Lakeland, Polk Co., Florida. He was interred with his first wife at the Roselawn Cemetery.

At some point, after Samuel's death, Sarah had moved from Indiana to Lakeland, Polk Co., Florida. According to the 1930 United States Federal Census she was living with her daughter Nellie Rinehart Nordquest. Sarah was 61 years old and married to Witt.

The 1940 United States Federal Census shows Sarah, age 71, widowed and the head of her own household at 509 Hunter Street in Lakeland.

The 1945 Florida State Census shows Sarah Rarick, age 79, living in Lakeland.

Sarah died May 12, 1948, in Lakeland, Polk Co., Florida. According to her grandson, Donn Nicholson, she was returned to Indiana and entombed next to her first husband, Samuel Alonzo Taylor, in a mausoleum at the South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Henry Co., Indiana.
