John Vincent Bowers, 56, of 4334 Peoples Road, Pittsburgh, died at 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 1972 at Youngstown, Ohio of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Bowers was driving to Youngstown to visit his son James and family when he suffered the attack within a few blocks of his home. The car came to rest against a stop sign and he was dead on arrival at a hospital. He was alone in the car.

A son of the late Ralph and Grace Parson Bowers, he was born September 18, 1915 at Graysville, and was a self-employed contractor.

Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Haywood Bowers; John, in the Air Force; David, of Pittsburgh, and James, of Youngstown; one daughter, Patty, at home; five grandchildren; two brothers, Harold, of Graysville, and Edward, of McDonald and four sisters, Mrs. Virginia Thomas and Miss Anna Bowers, both of Graysville; Mrs. Freda Tennant, of Brownsville and Mrs. Georgia Lewis, of Holbrook.

Two sisters are deceased.

Funeral services were held Wednesday with burial at West View.
