Services for Dorothy Lavell Rohus West, 91, of Alba, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Amazing Grace Fellowship, with Bro. Byron George officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Colony Cemetery, Alba.
Mrs. West passed away March 21, 2022, at her residence in Alba. She was born December 28, 1930, in Wills Point to Walter Isaac and Cumie Ann Parks Rohus. Dorothy spent her early years in Dallas, before moving to Alba 64 years ago. On October 1, 1949, she married Loyd Eugene West in Wills Point. She was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church, the Alba Ladies Club, and site manager for Meal on Wheels, in Alba, for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Gene West; two sons, Ricky West and Ronnie West; grandson, Michael West; two brothers, Cullen Rohus and Jack Rohus; and sister, Betty Boon.
Survivors include her two daughters, Bonnie McAree and husband Kent of Alba and Tammie West of Winnsboro; brother, Jim Rohus and wife Charline of Dayton; sister, Patsy Bunton of Emory; six grandchildren, Corey McAree and wife Tami, Cody McAree and wife Tonya, Jody West and wife Heather, Jennifer Ahart and husband Michael, Casey Raven West, Melyssa Posada and husband Jarred, and Weston Potts and wife Lexie; sixteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Audie McAree, Kaden West, Ty West, Burt Rohus, Jimmy Rohus, and Josh Rohus.
