Brief History of the Clapper Family
1765 - 1915
Following the history of Jacob Clapper, we will speak of his son George Clapper, who died of cancer in the face. In an old German Bible possession of John Clapper of Lower Reese Station is recorded the following wedding notice; May the thirteenth, 1823, George Clapper and Catherine Fornwalt, were married at the house of George Fay, before the Justice of Peace, William Spear, near Williamsburg. To this union were born Isaac, Daniel, George, Adolphus, John, James, David, Mary, Elizabeth and Susana, all of whom are dead excepting John Clapper of Lower Reese Station, now 80 years old and having lived all his life in Frankstown Township.
