Karen Jean (Kingery) Corr of Albuquerque, NM entered into eternal rest on October 29, 2021, in her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on April 16, 1942, in Canton, Il to the late Jess and Lula (Dykeman) Kingery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D. Joseph Corr, her sister, Marsha Jo Kness-Zudy, and her sister, Judy English Anderson.
As the matriarch of a large family, she was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Family and friends were very important to her, in the very full life she led. She lived in many US cities, namely, St. Louis, MO, Houston, TX, Albuquerque, NM, and Durango, CO. She worked as a kindergarten teacher and served on many philanthropic boards and organizations. She devoted a great deal of time to CanCare, a cancer fundraising organization. Also dear to her was the plight of animals. She had five yellow Labrador retrievers, and other dogs and animals over the years, and she devoted her time and resources to the betterment of the plight of animals, especially animal rescue organizations. She traveled extensively with her family and friends, visiting most US cities and many other countries. She loved to fly fish, played tennis, played bridge, was very active most of her life and loved the outdoors. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite animal organization, CanCare, or the Republican National Committee. Visitation will be held on March 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Alpha, IL, with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in the Alpha Cemetery.
