"The Harper Sentinel", Friday, February 18, 1898:
Lovina Miller was born in Tuscarawas county, Ohio, December 23 1840. Died at Crystal, Harper county, Kansas, February 7, 1898. She was converted and joined the M. E. church at Mt. Zion in the Bakersville circuit north Ohio conference in the winter of "59-60.
She was married to M. S. Neighbor in Illinois, March 1866, and moved to Ohio the following year. In 1877 they moved to Harvey county, Kansas, and from there to Harper county in 1879, near Crystal, where she lived to the time of her death.
She was one of the six that composed the first M. E. class organized at Nebo school house just north of the now beautiful M. E. church of which she was a faithful and devoted worker in the cause she loved so well. She was of a meek and quiet disposition. Loved and respected by all who knew her, ever ready and willing to do her part in all the services of the church. She was the mother of nine children, five girls and four boys, two having preceded her to the land above. The father and children that yet remain on earth hope to meet her in that land where they never say good-bye.
She was laid to rest in the Harper Cemetery to await the coming of her Master, who said: "Behold, I come quickly and My reward I bring with Me." Amen.
