Benjamin Franklyn Miller was born near Lexington, Ohio, in Richland County, June 10, 1842, died March 20, 1904 at his late home, four miles north of Bryan, aged 61 years, 9 months and 10 days.

After a brief service in the civil war as a volunteer in the 15th O. V. I., because of disabilities he was honorably discharged.

He was married to Mary E Murray, at Lexington, Ohio, on Sept 5, 1864. To this union four children were born, three of whom died in infancy. The … (faded unreadable space) … land Dec 25,1871.

On April 6, 1875, he was married again to Miss Iza Ransom. To this union were born Roy C and Ina Ruth.

In his life he was a member of Christ’s kingdom on earth serving him first as a member of the Lutheran church and for the past seven years as a member of the Presbyterian church. He leaves a widow and three children, besides other relatives, friends and neighbors to mourn his loss.

The funeral services were conducted by his pastor Rev. C. E. Lownie, of the West Bethesda Presbyterian church, assisted by his former paster Rev. J. A . West of the West Jefferson Lutheran church, on Tuesday at noon from his late residence four miles north of Bryan. Interment was at Shiffler Cemetery.
