Charlie Mac was born in Cooper, Texas on October 10, 1936, to Floy Lee and Nannie "Courtney" McMurtre. They have preceded him in death as well as his brother Billy and wife Delores McMurtre, his sister Robbie Nell Mulkey and niece Jamie Lynne Vaughn of Cooper, Texas, and his ex-wife Patricia Ridpath. He was a Farmer/Rancher in Delta County.
Survivors include a sister Marie Smith of Greenville, Texas, nephew Billy and Janet McMurtre, of Cumby, Texas nephew Donald McMurtre of Cooper, Texas, niece Phyllis and Scott Mahand of Lone Oak, Texas, nephew Michael Mulkey of Greenville, Texas, niece Alexzandria" Vaughn" Hurley of Waco, Texas, brother-in-law Bobby Mulkey of Greenville, Texas. and numerous Great nieces and nephews.
