Washington was a son of John Alsop and Eleanor Wren. He married Margaret Heavly, daughter of Samuel Heavly and Elizabeth Wiley, Margaret was born 1830, in Ohio and died 1914, IL. After Washington T. died Margaret married Lorenzo Hobbs, 1881.

Mrs. Margaret Hobbs, one of the oldest residents of this city, died in her home in Wood street Thursday. Sh had been almost blind for several years.
Margaret Hawely was born near Columbus, O., June 9, 1830. She came with her parents to Illiois at the age of 10 years and Jan. 14, 1847, was married to Washington T. Alsup. They settled on a farm near Rowell and lived there until Mr. Alsup's death Jan 12, 1877.
Mrs. Alsup and her children moved to Maroa and made this her home. On Jan 3, 1881, she was united in marriage to L.B. Hobbs, who died in this city Aug 10, 1910.
Mrs. Hobbs for most of her life was a member of the Christian church but for years was unable to attend services.
