Cecelia Deep Ryals, age 79, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Cecelia was born December 15, 1942 to Toofie Deep Sr. and Jean Griffith Deep. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Deep. Cecelia is survived by her husband, H. Howard "Sonny" Ryals, her sons, John (Vickie) Ryals and Jeff (Kim) Ryals, her grandchildren, Lane Ryals, Cory Ryals, and Heather McNeely, her great grandchildren Ryals McNeely and Tate McNeely, her siblings Toofie (Wanda) Deep and Dr. Larry (Rima) Deep, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graduate of a Catholic High School in Montgomery, she also graduated from the University of Alabama School of Nursing. She started her nursing career at St. Jude's Hospital and continued at St. Margaret's and Baptist East hospitals. A member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, she and Sonny enjoyed traveling to North Carolina and Tennessee. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warm smile and her caring spirit.
A visitation for Cecelia will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. A celebration of life chapel service will occur Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel followed by a burial at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Hwy., Montgomery, AL.
A graduate of a Catholic High School in Montgomery, she also graduated from the University of Alabama School of Nursing.
