Sara E. Anderson, 96, of Columbus, GA died March 7, 2022 at Brookside Glenn Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, March 12, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Shane Greene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.

Sara was born October 10, 1925 in Columbus, GA to the late Claude Betram Brooks and Sadie Eunice Kendrick Brooks. She resided in Columbus, GA her entire life and lived in the same house for 65 years. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother whose life was dedicated to her family. She had no other interests than raising and supporting her children. She sacrificed any personal interest in order to give to her family. She was an example of how God's love is shared with his children and shown on a daily basis as he walks with us through our journey in life.

There was never a moment Sara did not know where her children were and felt every pain and joy that they felt. She was never more than a phone call away and her home was always open to come by and share and receive advice. For 65 years, the family home on Roswell Lane was a stable place the family knew was their home and that Sara was always there for their needs.

Through her life, we all know that love like Sara showed awaits us as when we return to our heavenly Father. Our hopes are that Christ will greet her and say you did as I said and have taken care of my sheep without any self-interests of your own and you loved as I taught you to love. You understood my words and made the world a better place.

Her legacy is for her children to share the love of Christ through her example. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Maltie Anderson, son, Baxter (Kay) Lowe, brothers, Claude Brooks and Robert Brooks.

She is survived by her children, Joan Loughman (Tom), James Maltie "Jim" Anderson, Doug Anderson (Barbara), Andy Anderson (Darlene), grandchildren, Allison Bessant (John), Tommy Loughman (Lauren), Laurie Lima (Tito), Morgan Krieger (Jason), Meredith Tolleson (Ty), Brooks Anderson, great-grandchildren, Drake Bessant, Makayla Bessant, James Loughman, Olivia Lima, Emma J. Tolleson and nephew, Bert Brooks (Carolyn).
