He was born on Dec. 19, 1940, in Beckley, W.Va., and was a son of the late James Dawson and Marie Vines Dawson.
Mr. Dawson was a retired exterminator with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of the Luray Moose Lodge.
On Feb 14, 1987, he married Marzie Morris Dawson, who died on Feb. 28, 2018.
Burial was in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
