Elizabeth "Janie" Wyda, 89, of Hunlock Creek, died peacefully Friday, March 04, 2022 in Mercy Center in Dallas.

She was born on Hayfield Farm (Lehman) the daughter of Victor and Alma Diltz Brown.

Janie spent most of her career working there as an employee of Penn State Wilkes - Barre Campus. She could be found keeping many Departments in order as her little frame and big personality would move about Hayfield Building. Her contagious laugh could be heard throughout the campus.

She loved her rescued dogs, cooking and baking, delivering soulful meals and baked goods, sewing, a great game of cards, her sisters, and the joy of her life: her great-niece: Chaley Klotz.

In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph J. Wyda who died in 1995; and, her sisters: Flora Belle Smith and Alma Mae Klotz.

She is survived by her nephews: Harry Klotz of Bellmawr, New Jersey, Harry Duckenfield, of Gloucester, New Jersey, Victor Smith, and Jackie Smith; and, her adopted daughters: Anne and Frouke.

A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 01:00 PM.
