Wyda, of Hunlock Creek, Hunlock Township, died Saturday inWilkes-Barre General HospitalBorn in Kingston, he was the son of the former Mary Kubitsa of Pensacola, Fla., and the late George J. Wyda.He was formerly employed by Penn State Wilkes-Barre as a mechanic and plant operator.He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 558, Plains Township; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5267, Hanover Township; Catholic War Veterans Post 274, Ashley; the Elks Lodge, Towanda.He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita.Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, the former Elizabeth Jane Brown; brothers, William, New Albany; Edward, Pensacola, Fla.; Robert, Thompson, N.D.; Ronald, Arizona; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday from the A.J. Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Annunciation Church, Kingston.Interment will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.Friends may come from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
