Rev. Arthur Junior Evans, 94, of Loch Lynn, MD, died Friday, March 4, 2022, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born May 16, 1927, in Erie, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Della (Ratcliffe) Evans. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ava Virginia (Conrad) Evans in 2010.
Rev. Evans was pastor of the Oakland Church of the Nazarene, retiring at the age of 88. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service, was a member of the Oakland Ministerial Association and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Lenora (Flack) Hinkle Evans, three daughters, Bonnie Jo Platter and husband, Rick, Orlando, FL, Victoria Lee Newsome and husband, Gary, Bourbonnais, IL; Rebecca Ann Wise and husband, Steve, Terra Alta, WV; nine grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at 11:00 am at Oakland Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Dan Fredericks officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. He will be cremated following the service.
