Wanda grew up in Hayti, MO where she met her future husband, J.D. Andrews, and they married in 1948. Wanda was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti, MO where she was the pianist for the children's department. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi where she made many lifelong friends and enjoyed community activities. Wanda's grandchildren were her pride and joy and she enjoyed being a part of their life and all their activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, J.D. Andrews. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Andrews of Oxford, MS, her grandson, Jay Carmean (Wendy), her granddaughter, Sarah Carmean McLellan and Elizabeth Rose McLellan, of Oxford, MS. She is also survived by her niece, Linda Phillips, grandniece, Andrea Jones, great nephew, Jeffery Melton who were especially dear to her heart.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kindred Hospice, specially Leigh Ann Morgan and to the staff of Elison Assisted Living and her caregiver, Pauline Perry for their compassionate care.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 1 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, with Brother Mark Hoover officiating. Pallbearers were Jay Carmean, Paul Carmean, Brandon Jones, Michael McLellan, Jeffrey Melton, and Dennis Phillips. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti, MO.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy or memorial contributions in Mrs. Andrews memory be made to First Baptist Church, 201 East Lincoln, Hayti, MO 63851.
