Joe Palomino; born in Presidio, Texas; passed to his eternal rest at his home in Española. He was predeceased by his parents Jesús Márquez and Petra Palomino Márquez; and siblings: Jesús Márquez Jr., Ramón Oscar Márquez, Agripina Leyba; and other beloved family members.

Joe was survived by his wife Belen; children: Diana (Henry Magallanez), David Márquez, and Dora Márquez; grandchildren: Randi Márquez, Marisa Magallanez, Adrianne (José Castillo), Anton Magallanez, Kayla Márquez-Cimino, and Ian Luján; four great-grandchildren: Corrine, José, Jason and Maxson; many nieces and nephews whom also love and will remember Joe; siblings: María Rubio (Artesia), Rosa Aguilar (Artesia), Lupe (Esperanza) Márquez (Artesia), Grace (Joe) López (Ruidoso), and Henry (Mary) Márquez (Cortez, Colorado); and his sister-in-law Maggie (Dennis) Montoya.

Joe's family moved to Artesia, New Mexico in 1948. There he met and married his wife of 65 years, Belen Granado Márquez. Joe moved his family to the Española Valley in 1965 and launched his company, Márquez & Son Concrete Finishing. He and his son, David, worked primarily in Los Alamos and White Rock until 2013. Joe was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He is loved and remembered for his good nature, special humor, kindness, generosity, and love of horses and watermelon. He woke up singing or whistling and ended the day the same way. Joe and Belen were quite a couple on the dance floor and enjoyed going to weekend dances with friends in their younger years. The best times for Joe were when his family was together--it filled him with joy. He often said, "I have a good family and I've had a good life."

Joe's family is grateful for his long life. A heartfelt thanks to his wife, son and granddaughter, Randi, for taking such good care of him at home and making him so comfortable on his journey to his heavenly home.

Pallbearers were Joe's grandsons Anton Magallanez and Ian Luján. Honorary pallbearers were his granddaughters: Randi Márquez, Marisa Magallanez, Adrianne Castillo and Kayla Márquez Cimino. Funeral services were on 11 December 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial followed in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery
