Mrs. Elsie Dean Barbour Tart, age 84, of Dunn, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at WakeMed Hospital of Raleigh.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, Newton Grove. The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. She will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery, Newton Grove. Officiating the service will be Rev. Chris Leak.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Lynn Tart Rhodes and husband Larry of Four Oaks; son, Lloyd Tart and wife Julia of Dunn. Also, left to cherish her memories are the loves of her life, her grandchildren; Kaitlin Tart Johnson and husband Gregory, Hunter Rhodes and girlfriend Haley Tew, and Thomas Tart.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Marvin L. and Mary Anna Barbour, husband: Thomas J. Tart, siblings: Jr. Barbour, Roy Barbour, Wade Barbour, JC Barbour, Melvin Barbour, Mary Lou Barbour Sanford and Ernestine Barbour Maynard.

The family would like to express their thanks to everyone for the love, support and the many acts of kindness shown during this difficult time. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered and May God Bless each of you.
