Pauline was born to Hulda and Albert (Klingman) Fuehrer on June 16, 1940, in Campbell County. She grew up on the family farm North of Leola where she attended school and graduated in 1958.

After graduation, Pauline moved to Seattle Washington to continue her education. While on the West coast, she met the love of her life, Joseph A Fischer.

Pauline and Joe were married on June 5 of 1961 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Aberdeen, SD. They were married for 53 years until he went to be with the Lord. Pauline and Joe raised three children, were members of St. Mary Catholic Church, and enjoyed their cabin at the lake, camping, and fishing at the Missouri River. While Joe enjoyed catching fish, Pauline enjoyed catching the rays of the sun. She also enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's activities. Pauline lived in Aberdeen until 6 months ago when she moved to Sioux Falls.

Pauline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a vibrant personality, a quick smile, a compassionate heart and made people around her feel welcome and loved.

Pauline enjoyed working and being with people. She worked at Jewitt Drug, the Aberdeen Family Y, Cortrust Bank, and Kessler's. Her most recent work was volunteering at Roncalli Nearly New. She cherished the many friendships and relationships that flourished through these experiences.
