Kenneth LeRoy Bartlett, 96, died Sunday, February 27, at Harmon County Memorial Hospital in Hollis. Kenneth was born September 9, 1925 down on Buck Creek, and attended school at Halsmith, LaCasa, and Westview. Just before graduating, he was inducted into the Marines and was stationed on several South Pacific Islands and China. His most memorable happening of his overseas duty was the walk on the Great Wall of China.
Upon his return from service in World War II, he married the love of his life, Lorene (Mayhugh) Bartlett on Christmas Eve, 1946. To this union, they had three children Kent, June & Joye. He was proceeded in death by his wife Lorene Bartlett, parents Hiram and Lela Bartlett, father-in-law Andy Mayhugh, mother-in-law Maggie Mayhugh. Brothers James, Romie, Frank, and Lindy. Sisters Ogoretta Bartlett Richey, Ovetta Bartlett, Auvanelle Bartlett, and Jean Brozek. Brother and sister-in-law Calvin & Irvine Castleman, brother-in-law LeRoy Crawford and brother and sister-in-law Otto and Lavonne Buis, and son-in-law Kenneth "Bub" Norman.
