No where is the surname Valance or Valence, recorded back in those days in CT, NY, MA, NH or VT. We know that Timothy came to Sunderland, VT in ca. 1764 and that his first daughter, Huldah, was born there on 2 April of 1764, according to town records. Hannah (?) Brownson died in Sunderland on 26 Jun 1776.
