MARY VIOLA RUSSELL NORTON, 84, of Duncan, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, in Duncan.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Western Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Barnes and the Rev. Lance Norton officiating. Interment will be in New Velma (Okla.) Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
She was born May 14, 1923, in Healdton, to Joe Abner and Willie Flowers Russell. She married Leslie Henderson Norton on Jan. 31, 1946, in Duncan. He preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1989.
She was a homemaker and a member of Western Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Deena Watson and husband Danny, and two sons, Joe Norton and wife Jennifer, and Steve Norton and wife Sonia, all of Duncan; a sister, Claudie Keith, and a brother, Jimmy Russell, both of Healdton; five grandchildren, Stepheni David and husband Danny, Mikel Norton and wife Renee, Landon Norton and wife Amanda, Jeremy Watson and wife Amy, and Lance Norton and wife Staci; seven great-grandchildren, Chandler, Cameron and Claire Norton, Aiden, Andrew and Chayton Norton, and Brynne Norton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Dora Mae Bailey, Pearl Hoggard, Virgie Garrett and Jo Weaver; and two brothers, Silas Russell and Bob Russell.
Bearers will be Jeremy Watson, Landon Norton, Lance Norton, Danny David, Leonard Jackson and Lynn Fawbush.
Honorary bearers are Mikel Norton, Chandler David, Cameron David, Aiden Norton, Andrew Norton, Chayton Norton, and the men of Western Heights Baptist Church.
