Jim was born in Healdton July 17, 1929 to Joe Abner and Willie Arila Flowers Russell. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 19, 2016 at his home in Dundee, OK., with his family by his side. As a young boy Jim attended school at Healdton and later attended high school at Fox. He worked in the oil fields for a short time before enlisting and proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his enlistment he moved back home and was employed as a house roofer before entering his life long career as an iron worker until retiring in 1998. He married Eva Stephenson on April 1, 1960 in Oklahoma City sharing 56 loving years together. Jim was always on the go. He enjoyed graveling catfish, hunting, playing dominoes, raising cattle and chickens, selling watermelon, and just being outdoors. He is going to be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by 2 brothers; 5 sisters; and 1 son; Roger Orum.
He is survived by his wife Eva of the home – 4 daughters; Susan Ann and Peggy Louise Russell of Healdton – Donna Weers of Kansas – Joy Lee Helzer of Oklahoma City – 1 sister; Claudie Keith of Healdton – a nephew and granddaughter that he raised; Kevin Stephenson of Healdton and Beth Tidwell of Lone Grove – 5 grandchildren – 4 great grandchildren. Family will serve as pallbearers.
