SERVICES HELD FOR NATIVE OF ALMARTHA
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Noble Church for Alonzo Hernden, 74, who died Saturday.
Mrs. E. A. Hunsaker of Marshfield officiated at the service. Interment was in the Noble Cemetery under direction of the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.
Mr. Herndon was born November 8, 1866, at Almartha. He married Jane Gaston December 23, 1886. Five children were born to them, three of whom survive, Larry of Dalles, Tex., Roy of Mansfield, Missouri, and Glen of Wood River, Illinois.
His wife and two children preceded him in death.
He leaves two granddaughters, Emily Jane and Ora Lee Herndon of Wasola, and three sisters, Mrs. Jo Ann Eddings and Mrs. T. A. Kay of Ava, and Mrs. Nellie Frazier of Missoula, Montana.
Mr. Herndon had been a member of the Congregational Church for sixteen years.
