Note: Rev. William Abbott was the older twin brother of Albert Abbott, who died in 1917. William's mother died a month after William and Albert were born in 1917, their father less than a year later, in 1918.

WYCKOFF - The Rev. William Abbott, 55 (57), OFM, died Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center, Paterson.
Father Abbott was pastor of St. Elizabeth R.C. Church.
Born in Bangor, Me., he entered the Franciscan Fathers Novitiate in 1945 and was ordained as a priest in 1950.
He served at St. Anthony Shrine, Boston from 1951 to 1957.
He was transferred to St. Francis Chapel, Providence, R.I., where he remained until he came to St. Elizabeth Church in 1961.
He was named pastor in 1967.
Father Abbott leaves no immediate survivors.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home.

WYCKOFF The funeral of the Rev. William Abbott, OFM, former pastor of St Elizabeth's R.C. Church, presently serving in Sacred Heart R.C, Church, Rochelle Park, will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
Father Abbott served at St. Elizabeth's for over 12 years before being reassigned to Sacred Heart R.C. Church a few years ago.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered in St. Elizabeth's Church.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
The body will lie in state today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a m. to 8 p.m. in St. Elizabeth's Church.
The Altar-Rosary Society will have a recitation at 8:30 tonight in the church.
Father Abbott, son of the late William W. and Alice Burrell Abbott, died Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Paterson, after a year's illness.
He was 55 (57). Funeral arrangements are by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave.
