The death of William W. Abbott, one of the best known young men of Bangor, died at his home on Sanford street Sunday after a brief illness of pneumonia.

He was born and always lived in Bangor, was a graduate of Bangor high school, where he was prominent In athletics and was captain of the 1906 football team which made the rather remarkably record of playing three 0-0 games with Portland high that season.

He was also manager and a player on the original B. A. A. basketball team and a baseball player.

After graduation from the high school he was for a time in the employ of Miller & Webster, clothing, and later went the business with Wm. M. Daley, cigar manufacturing and a cigar and tobacco store, under the firm name of Daley. & Abbott on Central street, later on Hammond street as the Gibson store, on his own account after Mr. Daleys retirement. For some time previous to his death he was employed by the Eastern Builders Association.

He was active in the Knights of Columbus and had many friends.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. H. L. Abbott, a young son and a sister Sister Adelaide of Portland.

His wife, Alice Burrill Abbott, died In August of last year.
