Donald "Don" Bubnack, age 95, of East Syracuse, passed away on February 14, 2022 to be reunited with his beloved wife, Jean. He was a life resident of the Syracuse area and graduated from Minoa High School. Don was a US Navy veteran serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific during WWII. He worked for Niagara Mohawk as an electrician for over 40 years. He was a parishioner of St. Matthew's Church and volunteered at their Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. Don was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, the former Regina "Jean" Keating; and by 11 siblings. Surviving are two sons, Tom Bubnack of Albany and Jim (Julie) Bubnack of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Katie (John) Crotty, Betsy (TJ McGovern) Bubnack, Colleen (Rob) McCary and Tim Bubnack; and four great-grandchildren, Lucy, Josie and Dillon Crotty and Theodore McCary; and numerous nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held Friday, February 18, at 10 am at St. Matthew's Church in East Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am. Burial with Navy Honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt. Contributions in Don's memory may be made to St. Matthew's Church.
