Funeral services for Aaron Nathan Throneberry, 83, of Murfreesboro who died Thursday, May 20, 2004 at his home will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Thomas McCraken and the Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Manchester, Mr. Throneberry was the son of the late John Wesley and Carrie Anthony Throneberry. He was a member and elder of Central Christian Church and a Mason and was a member of the Eastern Star and Mt. Mariah Lodge No. 18. He was a veteran of World War II and served on a submarine in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Mr. Throneberry was a member of the Joymakers Quartet and a retired civil service employee.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Keith Throneberry, and a sister, Opal Cook.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lena West Throneberry, daughter Janet and her husband Dr. Robert Hopson of Murfreesboro; grandson, Collier Throneberry Hopson of Murfreesboro; and sister Clara Wiser of Manchester.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
