"Ephraim Beasley was a pioneer of the Hoosier State, his first settlement being made in Harrison County, but later in Lawrence County. Alexander Beasley, a substantial farmer and stock-raiser, of Stockton Township, was born near Nashville, Tenn., in 1810, and is a son of Ephraim Beasley, and grandson of Richard and Elizabeth (McGinnis) Beasley, who were natives of North Carolina and Virginia respectively. Alexander was the second born of the following named children of Ephraim & Elizabeth: Richard, Alexander, Mary, Rebecca, Jesse, Daniel, Ephraim, William, John, Rachel and Elizabeth. He began the battle of life a poor boy, as did also his father before him and was raised upon his father's farm to hard work."

Beasley Cemetery is listed in the Cemetery and Burial Grounds Registry of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and in the State Historical Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD) with Cemetery Record Number CR-47-169 (Beasley). The cemetery is located on the back corner of land originally owned by Richard Beasley (NW quadrant of the NW quadrant of Section 25 Township 4N Range 2W), and was used as the family cemetery. Several family members and neighbors are known to be buried here, though no formal burial records were maintained.
