E.E. "Dub" Webber, 67, of Missoula died Saturday in a Missoula hospital of cardiac arrest.
He was born July 2, 1917, in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Edward J. and Goldie Webber. He moved with his family to Missoula as a child where he was raised and attended Missoula schools. Following his schooling he began working for the Garden City Floral Greenhouse which later became Webber & Sons Greenhouse.
He married Maxine Thompson in Missoula on July 2, 1937. He owned and operated the greenhouse until retiring in 1980.
In his early years, Mr. Webber played alto saxophone in Eddy's Harmony Five, a dance band which he formed. He was a very active member of the Missoula County Sheriff's Posse, a member of the Orchard Homes Country life Club a past president of the Montana State Florists Association and a past president of Hawthorne School P.T.A. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge.
His hobbies included gardening of all kinds, horses and music.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, of Missoula; two sons, Ricky Hugh Webber of Missoula and Edward B. "Butch" Webber, Battle Ground, Wash.; two daughters, Sandra "Sandy" Lackner, Dickinson, N.D.; and Pamela Webber, Missoula; his father, Edward J. Webber, Missoula; four sisters, Camillia Jo. Lachman, Lorraine C. Lachman and Alice Trego, all of Missoula; and Blanche Smith, Settle; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church, 235 S. Fifth W. The Rev. Bruce Glover will officiate.
Private interment will follow at Missoula Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Squire Simmons & Carr Funeral Home.
