Verna "Polly" Adkins, age 97, of Blairs, VA, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at her residence.
Mrs. Adkins was born on March 25, 1924, in Sago, VA, a daughter of the late Joe Henry Adkins and Lelia Oakes Adkins.
On December 15, 1942, she married Reid Adkins who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by twelve siblings.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Ray Adkins (Sharon); grandchildren, Jennifer Petrovitch and Joey Adkins; step-grandchildren, Michele Moore, Mike Henderson, and Andrew Meeks; great-grandson, Dylan Adkins; step-great-grandchildren, Taylor Moore, Kyndall Moore, Aria Meeks, and Gabe Meeks; and her special caretaker, Patricia Zigler.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, January 31, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Adkins Family Cemetery with Reverend Roy Harris officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at Barker Funeral Home. Barker Funeral Service is respectfully serving the Adkins family.
